High Impact Winter Storm to Impact Region

On Friday, a cold front will bring very cold temperatures into the region. This front will be followed by a high impact winter storm on Saturday night and Sunday. This winter storm will be the most significant winter storm the region has experienced in some time. Additionally, bitterly cold temperatures will persist after the storm, potentially keeping temperatures below freezing for a week or more.

As of this writing - this is a probabilistic "forecast" based on current thoughts and trends. It's still just a bit too early to put out an actual forecast for exact snow amounts.

These percentages apply to an area centered around the eastern half of Montgomery County, but will generally apply to surrounding areas as well. Mixing will be possible especially south and east of the beltway.

1" or more of snow: 99%
3" or more of snow: 95%
6" or more of snow: 80%
8" or more of snow: 60%
12" or more of snow: 35%
16" or more of snow: 5%
